CFA Society Poland Annual Conference

2023 EDITION

On October 18–19, 2023, the CFA Society Poland Annual Conference took place at Hotel Verte in Warsaw, gathering professionals from the financial sector. The central theme of the event was the role of technology and innovation in transforming the financial markets. The conference featured a series of presentations and discussions focused on the future of finance in the context of rapidly evolving economic realities, with particular attention to the role of AI, digitization, and the automation of investment processes. Attendees also had the opportunity to participate in panel discussions addressing the challenges of green transformation, cybersecurity, and the energy crisis.

2022 EDITION

From September 22–24, 2022, participants experienced a series of curated talks and discussions tackling the most critical challenges in the financial sector. Focusing on both personal and professional uncertainties, last year’s theme revolved around how the financial markets adapted to the impact of war conflicts, rising inflation, and the ongoing pandemic. For the second year in a row, the event was held at the prestigious Warszawianka Hotel Conference Center, set against the scenic backdrop of the Zegrzyński Reservoir.

2021 EDITION

The 10th edition of the CFA Society Poland Annual Conference took place shortly after the summer, during a period of relaxed pandemic restrictions in Poland. As a result, the event was held in a hybrid format, with nearly 150 professionals attending in person. The Day 2 online broadcast reached close to 1,000 participants. One of the highlights was a remote workshop by Professor Aswath Damodaran, a world-renowned expert in valuation, corporate finance, and investment management, who joined from California. The conference’s main theme was “Improving Investment Decisions.”

CFA Society Poland Annual Conference

2020 EDITION

The 2020 CFA Society Poland Annual Conference, held from October 21–23, featured a series of lectures, panel discussions, and workshops aimed at helping participants navigate the evolving business landscape. In addition to a closed workshop section exclusively for CFA Society Poland members, the event also offered an open section for all financial professionals on October 23, 2020. The conference was inaugurated by Gary Baker, CFA, former Managing Director for the EMEA region at CFA Institute. The workshops were led by Sri Krishnamurthy, CFA, and Meirav Harel. Held entirely online due to the pandemic, the event provided valuable insights into financial markets and investment strategies.

2019 EDITION

On October 11, 2019, the largest annual gathering of the CFA community in Poland took place, under the title Annual Seminar 2019. Held at the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE/GPW), the event brought together representatives from the financial and investment sectors, along with special guests. The program focused on the future of the financial industry, introduced by two key presentations: Professor Eugene Gatnar from the Monetary Policy Council with his speech “What Awaits on the Other Side of Zero?” and a Fitch Ratings forecast for Poland and the region presented by Arvind Ramakrishnan. Later, Ignacy Morawski from SpotData shared a joint report with CFA Society Poland titled “Evolutions and Revolutions: The Future of the Financial Sector.” The event culminated in an engaging geopolitical simulation led by John Hulsman, focusing on the rising influence of China and U.S. politics.
