Dr. habil. Jacek Jastrzębski, professor at the university, is one of Poland’s leading experts in law and the financial sector. He holds a legal degree as a graduate and professor of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw and an economics degree from the Warsaw School of Economics. He also completed the prestigious Professional LL.M. program at the University of California, Berkeley in the United States. Jacek Jastrzębski has combined his work in the banking sector with academic and scientific activities. For more than ten years, he served as the deputy director of the Legal Department of PKO Bank Polski. He is currently a professor at the Department of Civil Law, Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw. In 2017, he was recognized in the “Legal 500’s GC Powerlist: Central and Eastern Europe”, a list of top lawyers in Central and Eastern Europe. In his academic work, he specializes in civil law, commercial law, and financial market law. He is the author or co-author of over 80 scientific publications. His doctoral and habilitation dissertations have been awarded in competitions by the “Państwo i Prawo” journal. He has participated, also as a speaker or moderator, in numerous national and international conferences, including those focused on financial markets.
